The Henderson Silver Knights defeated the Bakersfield Condors, 4-2, at home on Friday evening. Adam Cracknell (1G, 2A) and Dysin Mayo (1G, 1A) both recorded multi-point nights.
The Condors scored first with a power-play goal just over three minutes into the game.
The Silver Knights answered back just two minutes later with a goal scored by Cracknell. Jonas Rondbjerg passed it from the boards to Cracknell in stride. He then was able to lift the puck and find the back of the net. He was also assisted by Mayo. The score remained tied heading into the first intermission.
Bakersfield broke the tie six minutes into the second period.
Henderson tied the game back up eight minutes later with a goal scored by Mayo. Cracknell carried the puck into the zone before passing it along to Byron Froese. Froese then ripped the puck to the opposite side of the ice finding Mayo who was able to beat the goalie.
The Silver Knights got their first lead of the game with just two minutes left in the second period after Grigori Denisenko scored unassisted. Denisenko recovered the loose puck after a turnover near the face-off dot and quickly fired it into the back of the net. Henderson held onto their 3-2 lead heading into the second intermission.
With eight minutes remaining in the third period, Henderson extended their lead to two with a goal from Mason Geertsen. Cracknell got his third point of the day after passing it over to Froese. Froese quickly passed the puck towards the net where Geertsen was able to tap it in. The Silver Knights were able to hold onto their two-goal lead.
The Silver Knights will be back at The Stronghold on Saturday, March 30 at 7 p.m. PT. They will face-off against the Coachella Valley Firebirds for the second game of their five-game homestand.
